Meet Raj Bandi

Guppy's started with a dream and a whole lot of resilience. Raj Bandi is an Indian immigrant who moved to the U.S. chasing the American Dream — and earned it through a decade of hard work, juggling jobs and saving every dollar to build something of his own.
That grit runs deep. Raj lost his father young and watched his mother fight her way back from a deep depression — working a full-time job while studying to advance her career, never asking anyone for help, making sure her kids had everything they needed to move forward.
“She taught us to withstand anything life throws at us. That's where I get my resilience from.”
The idea for Guppy's had been brewing since 2020. When the pandemic wiped out his first business — and his life savings — bouncing back felt impossible. “As an immigrant, I had no choice but to trust in fate and the dream.” Through sheer resilience and a stack of jobs, he saved up again and opened Guppy's in one of his most beloved places in the country: Austin, Texas.
Guppy's is where his two worlds meet — American comfort food paired with Indian spices. “A match made in heaven. Literally my representation on a plate. This is my forever thank you letter to America.” The brand is for everyone still chasing the dream.
Comfort Food Just Got Better.
What's next? Raj is working on bottling Guppy's sauces and seasonings — so you can take the heat home.
